Sungma 2nd Flush
This black tea was harvested in the early summer of 2024. Sungma is located on the eastern side of the beautiful Mirik Valley, India. Mike and Emeric visited it years ago. In June, they produce the second flush Darjeelings. The growers allow an insect infestation to occur. The plant reacts and creates a repellent that has a flavor similar to fruity muscat grapes. This explains the name muscatel Darjeeling. The tea is allowed to oxidize fully to a brown color (unlike the greenish first flush Darjeelings). So it is a delight.
